What is MaxMedia

MaxMedia brings image, audio, video, PDF, and AI tools together. Compression, image-to-SVG conversion, on-device transcription, and local-mode background removal run in your browser. Background removal also offers cloud Recraft; other cloud AI tools send selected content to third-party providers for processing.

Technology

MaxMedia is built on top of modern web standards:

• WebCodecs API — native browser video and image codecs
• WebAssembly (WASM) — high-performance algorithms in the browser
• jsquash — efficient image encoding and decoding

Our Philosophy

MaxMedia is local-first by design. Compression, transcoding, and image vectorization can run in your browser, so your files do not need to be uploaded. When a feature requires cloud AI, such as image editing or speech synthesis, our Privacy Policy explains what is sent and how it is handled.

Open Source

We plan to gradually open-source our core SDK so others can build local-first media apps. Stay tuned.
